Kentucky quarterback Brock Vandagriff is off to a good start against Texas on Saturday afternoon.

After falling behind 7-0, Vandagriff engineered a 9-play, 73-yard drive to tie the game early in the 2nd quarter.

The drive ended with a 4th-down lob pass to tight end Josh Kattus, who successfully high-pointed the ball over a Texas DB to secure the touchdown. Here’s the replay:

It’s been a rough season overall for Vandagriff, but this was his 10th touchdown pass of the season. Vandagriff is in his first season as Kentucky’s starting quarterback.

Kentucky has to win this game in order to secure bowl eligibility. The Wildcats are 4-6 on the season and can not afford another loss if they want to reach the postseason this year.

Texas is still fighting for position in the postseason as well. The Longhorns are currently on track to make the SEC Championship Game and the College Football Playoff if they can avoid any more slip-ups in the regular season. Texas’s only loss to this point in the year came against Georgia.

This is the first meeting between Texas and Kentucky in football since 1951.
