Kirby Smart and Georgia couldn’t have been impressed with the Bulldogs first half against Kent State.

Yes, Georgia is winning 26-13; however, Georgia had outscored opponents 130-10 entering Saturday and was a huge favorite against the Golden Flashes. Also, Georgia committed 3 first half turnovers, too, as it struggled to wake up in the first quarter.

Ladd McConkey muffed a punt and fumbled on a run after the catch. Stetson Bennett also under-threw a receiver for an interception.

Following the first half, Smart was asked about his team’s struggles.

“We haven’t punted yet,” Smart said. “And we’ve got three turnovers, and when you turn the ball over three times and you don’t get any, it’s not a good recipe. So, it’s not that we’ve got to change what we’re doing, we’ve got to protect the ball a little better.

“We’ve got to tackle. It’s not that they’re throwing it over our heads. They’ve caught and ran with it. We’ve go to tackle and do a little better job and get some things fixed.”
