Kirk Herbstreit continues to be impressed with his alma mater Ohio State, as he ranked the Buckeyes as the No. 1 team in the nation after 6 weeks.
Ohio State dominated Michigan State 49-20 Saturday behind CJ Stroud’s 6 passing touchdowns. The Buckeyes quarterback lit up the Spartans defense, and running back TreVeyon Henderson rushed for 118 yards and 1 touchdown. Receivers Emeka Egbuka and Marvin Harrison Jr. both posted over 100 yards receiving and combined for 4 touchdowns.
After Week 6, Herbstreit ranked Georgia, Alabama and Michigan in his top 4, too, with Clemson and Oklahoma State just outside at No. 5 and No. 6 respectively.
Georgia hammered Auburn Saturday 42-10, while Alabama survived an upset bid by Texas A&M 24-20. Michigan scored 21 unanswered second-half points beat Indiana 31-10. Clemson defeated Boston College 31-3, and Oklahoma State remained unbeaten knocking off Texas Tech 41-31.
One team noticeably absent is the Tennessee Volunteers. The Vols host Alabama Saturday.
Herbstreit released his latest rankings early Sunday morning on social media.
