Kirk Herbstreit updated his top 6 college football teams early Sunday morning.

The College GameDay analyst’s rankings were revealed after Tennessee knocked off Alabama in dramatic fashion 52-49.

Although Tennessee shot up Herbstreit’s rankings, the win didn’t impress him enough to put the Vols atop his poll. That honor belonged to Ohio State, who was open in Week 7. The Vols, however, were No. 2 in the analyst’s rankings. Georgia and Michigan followed Tennessee to round out his top 4 teams.

The Clemson Tigers were just outside of Herbstreit’s top 4 at No. 5, and following the loss to Tennessee, Alabama fell to No. 5.

Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee all control their own destiny in the SEC. The Tide can still win the SEC West and make the SEC Championship Game, while the Vols still have to play Georgia and Kentucky.

Could Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee all make the Playoff? If every team loses just one game, including the SEC Champion, it would be hard to keep all of them out of the Playoff.
