Former starting Tennessee defender reuniting with Butch Jones at Arkansas State

Kivon Bennett has found a new home with a familiar face as the former Tennessee Vol recently announced his decision to transfer to Butch Jones’ Arkansas State program.

Bennett was one of Tennessee’s best pass rushers in recent seasons but was dismissed from the program back in December following an arrest on gun and drug charges. Bennett is the son of former Alabama and NFL linebacker, Cornelius Bennett.

This news results in a reunion for Bennett and Jones as the former Tennessee coach was the one that recruited the linebacker to Rocky Top as a member of the 2017 recruiting cycle.

During his time with Tennessee, Bennett racked up 52 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. Arkansas State also has former Tennessee lineman John Mincey on the roster.
