Landon Sims injury: What Mississippi State coach Chris Lemonis said after Friday game

Mississippi State baseball defeated Tulane 19-2 on Friday night, but many Bulldogs fans did not feel like celebrating. Landon Sims, the star hurler who helped MSU win the 2021 College World Series, left the game due to injury in the 4th inning.

Mississippi State coach Chris Lemonis spoke to reporters after the game. The Bulldog skipper did not know much about the injury at that time, but noted that the pitcher’s arm “didn’t feel right.”
“We don’t know,” Lemonis said of Sims’ status, per 247Sports. “He said his arm just didn’t feel right, so we took him out. I’m sure we’ll have him looked at.”
The junior right-hander has a 1.15 ERA in 2022, posting a statline of 15.2 IP, 11 H, 5 R, 2 ER, 27K. Sims had retired all 11 batters faced in the Tulane game, striking out 10.
