Landon Sims has baseball fans everywhere worried by his early exit Friday night. The Mississippi State star pitcher left the Bulldogs’ game at Tulane in the 4th inning due to injury.

Sims’ long-term future is the chief concern with his injury, but it can’t be ignored that he was off to a phenomenal start Friday night at Tulane. Sims had faced 11 batters, not allowing a baserunner while striking out 10. It’s 15-0 Bulldogs in the top of the 5th inning.

Sims played a big part in MSU winning the 2021 College World Series. In Omaha, he made 4 appearances, pitching 10.0 innings of relief while striking out 15 and allowing just 1 run on 4 hits.

MSU is 5-4 in 2022 so far.
