It didn’t take long for Lane Kiffin to score his first commitment as LSU’s head coach. A blue-chip tight end previously committed to Ole Miss has decided to follow Kiffin to Baton Rouge.
Ahead of the Early Signing Period, JC Anderson announced that he has flipped his commitment from Ole Miss to LSU. He shared the news with Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.
Listed at 6-6, 240 pounds, Anderson is out of Mt. Zion (Illinois) High School. On the 247Sports Composite, he is rated 4-stars, the No. 7 player in the state of Illinois, No. 11 tight end and No. 230 prospect overall in the Class of 2026.
Anderson had been verbally pledged to Kiffin and the Rebels since July 1. He appeared to be set his commitment, with his 247Sports profile showing no new offers or visits since his Ole Miss announcement. With Kiffin changing teams, though, Anderson has decided to do the same and begin his college football career at LSU.
During his recruitment, Anderson picked up scholarship offers from 36 programs. In addition to Ole Miss, he took spring visits to Illinois and Auburn.
It’s hard to know how recruiting classes will shake out after a coaching change, but LSU currently has the No. 12 class overall on the Composite. Tiger fans can get a preview of what Anderson brings to the bayou by checking out his highlights below, via Hudl:
