Ole Miss rallied to knock off host Oklahoma 34-26 on Saturday to get back in the win column. However, Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables had some sour grapes afterwards, expressing that he believes the Sooners were still the better team.

“I felt like we were the better team,” Venables said. “But at the end of the day, it’s a game of performance and executing and I thought they out-executed us.”

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin is never bashful to speak his mind, and he fired back at Venables’ claim on Monday.

“That’s a hot take,” Kiffin said. “I wouldn’t have thought people watching would say that..I think we should’ve won by a couple scores…Interesting take. Whatever he needs to say. Maybe they had the better team last year when we beat them.”

Ole Miss trailed 26-25 entering the fourth quarter before outscoring Oklahoma 9-0 to earn the victory. Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss completed 24 of his 44 passes for 315 yards and a touchdown. Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy rushed for 2 scores.

Next up for No. 7 Ole Miss is a home game vs. South Carolina on Nov. 1. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN).
