For the second time in the past 4 seasons, Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin is the hottest coaching commodity in the country. In 2022, Auburn reportedly made a run at Kiffin before hiring Hugh Freeze. And this season, in the wake of Florida firing Billy Napier, Kiffin has emerged as a top target to head to Gainesville to lead the Gators.

Kiffin met with his Rebels team Friday before flying to Norman, Okla., to take on the Sooners and addressed the rumors that he will accept what is being reported as a massive offer to bolt Oxford and coach the Gators.

“I just mentioned it to them yesterday. That’s a product of having a program with a lot of players and coaches doing a really good job,” Kiffin told SEC Network’s Laura Rutledge during a live interview on the field prior to the Rebels’ game this afternoon at Oklahoma.

“I wouldn’t even mention it, because they’ve been through it every year for like 4 years in a row. But we have so many new players that I told them, ‘This is what happens around here because we win games and people like the style we play in.’ So it is a compliment to the players.'”

In his 6th season at Ole Miss, Kiffin (50-19 overall in Oxford) has recorded 10+ wins in 3 seasons. Still, Kiffin’s Ole Miss teams have yet to earn a spot in the College Football Playoff.
