LaNorris Sellers has made it official. The South Carolina quarterback will be back with the Gamecocks for the 2026 season.

It was reported earlier this month that Sellers had agreed to a new compensation deal for the ’26 season. On Monday, Sellers confirmed those reports by sharing a video message announcing his return.

“Home isn’t a place you find, it’s a place that finds you,” Sellers says in the posted clip. “Last season, it didn’t end how we wanted; it didn’t end how I wanted. I know what I left out there. I know what I’m capable of.

“That’s why I’m not running from it, I’m running toward it. Because I believe in the staff. I believe in this locker room. I believe in this state, this team, this place. 2026 isn’t about coming back; it’s about finishing.”

In 2025, a down year for the South Carolina offense under fired offensive coordinator Mike Shula, Sellers completed 60.8% of his passes for 2,437 yards with 13-8 touchdown-to-interception ratio. He also added 5 rushing scores.

Sellers is hoping to bounce back to his 2024 numbers, when he completed 65.6% of his passes at 8.5 yards per attempt for 2,534 yards and 18 TDs to 7 INTs. He also ran for 674 yards and 7 scores at 4.06 yards per carry in 2024.

Shane Beamer made multiple offseason hires to the offensive staff, headlined by new offensive coordinator Kendal Briles.
