After missing time in 2024, Texas A&M running back Le’Veon Moss is headed for another stint on the injury list this season. During his Monday press conference, Aggies head coach Mike Elko confirmed that Moss will be sidelined with an ankle injury that he sustained during the 34-17 victory against Florida last weekend.
Elko stated that this require a significant amount of time missed but thankfully isn’t a season-ending injury for Moss.
“It’s an unrelated injury to anything that he has been dealing with,” Elko said. “It has nothing to do with last year. It has nothing to do with what he has been dealing with earlier this year. It is an isolated injury on that tackle (the play he was injured on). It’s an ankle, not a knee, which is a really positive sign. He is going to have to go get it looked at and we will kind of figure out where it is at. It will certainly not end his season, but he will miss a significant amount of time.”
Moss has rushed for a team-high 389 yards and 6 touchdowns on 5.6 yards per carry this season. It’ll be up to Rueben Owens II (327 yards, 1 touchdown) to shoulder more of the rushing load in Moss’ absence.
Next up for No. 4 Texas A&M is a road matchup at Arkansas as it aims to remain undefeated. Kickoff will be on Oct. 18 at 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN).
