LSU and athletic director Scott Woodward agreed to a contract extension that will keep them together through the end of the decade.

Woodward, who has been at LSU since 2019, agreed to a four-year extension worth $7.4 million.

The Advocate also reports that the LSU board of directors approved renovations to the football facility.

The facility renovation includes a new rehabilitation area available to every LSU athlete with a sleep lab, hydrotherapy, performance analysis technology and an infrared sauna, among other features.

LSU’s board noted the expansion project, which will cost $20 million, was necessary to provide clinical space for Our Lady of the Lake to help treat players.

Woordward came to LSU from Texas A&M and has made some key hires since joining the Tigers. He plucked Kim Mulkey from Baylor to coach the woman’s basketball team and hired Brian Kelly away from Notre Dame to lead the football program.
