For five-star defensive tackle Rashard Lawrence, it all came down to the schools who boast the top two recruiting classes in the entire country for 2016.
In the end, he chose LSU over Ohio State.
The 6-foot-3, 305-pounder out of Monroe, La., made the announcement to come to Baton Rouge on Friday morning at the Neville High School auditorium. The decision comes exactly one week after Lawrence made an official visit to the school.
According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Lawrence is the No. 5 defensive tackle and No. 23 overall prospect in the recruiting cycle.
Tigers defensive line coach Ed Orgeron and special teams coordinator/linebackers coach Bradley Dale Peveto were the ones involved in his recruiting.
While making his announcement, Lawrence said it was a tough decision that took him until Thursday to make.
