LSU defeated Auburn 21-17 in Week 5. After a loss to Florida State to open the season, Brian Kelly’s team is now 4-1.

That doesn’t mean that the game had its struggles, though, especially within the offense. LSU was shutout in the 1st quarter but scored all its points in the 2nd and 3rd stanzas. Jayden Daniels was just 8-of-20 for 80 yards and didn’t throw a touchdown but did take 16 carries for 59 yards and a score on the ground. He did leave the game and stated on Tuesday that his knee had been “hurting pretty bad” when departing against Auburn. All told, LSU only managed 270 yards of total offense.

On Tuesday, wide receiver Malik Nabors revealed that quarterback Daniels had rounded up his receivers for a “players-only meeting” in light of the game against Auburn. From Nabors’ description, it sounded as if both sides had a positive discussion and are looking forward to improving together:

LSU will have a tough task ahead of it on Saturday: it hosts No. 8 Tennessee in Death Valley at noon ET.
