SEC newcomer Malik Zaire has set high hopes for himself and the Florida offense.

Zaire transferred to Florida as a fifth-year graduate transfer after playing the past three seasons for Notre Dame. He is set to make the most out of his new start in Gainesville and indicated that the Gators offense has lofty goals.

According to Scott Carter of FloridaGators.com Zaire recently made the following comments suggesting the sky is the ceiling for the Gator offense in the coming season.

“My mindset going in is that we want to be the best offense in the country,” Zaire said. “Who doesn’t want to be a Florida Gator quarterback. I think the last time a lefty did it here down here, things worked out pretty well.”

Zaire also commented on the amount of talent on the offensive side of the ball for Florida.

“We’re so good we feel like we’re like the entertainment,” Zaire continued. “When people come to see us, they’re paying to come see the offense play…the number of talented guys we have on the offensive side of the ball and the potential we have as an offense, I think is going to be very, very effective and dangerous. When we put it together, it’s going to be unstoppable.”

It still has not been determined if Zaire will be the starting QB for Florida, although he is currently the betting favorite to win the job. He is battling with Feleipe Franks and Luke Del Rio for the starting position. Either way, Zaire and Florida’s offense remains confident for 2017.
