Many in the college football world are now ready to cast away the Alabama Crimson Tide as a national championship contender. Yet, a former Alabama Heisman Trophy winner is setting the record straight.
In the wake of Alabama’s Week 1 loss at previously unranked Florida State, FOX Sports’ Mark Ingram made his argument that Alabama won’t tailspin.
“This is an overreaction. I’m going to tell you why. Is there cause for concern? Yes. Is all that frustration that you heard on the vignette justified? Yes. Was the last performance trash? Yes,” Ingram said on Big Noon Kickoff. “But at the end of the day, they have 1 of the best rosters in college football.”
Ingram has faith in head coach Kalen DeBoer because of his pedigree and that the right players will step up to the challenge.
“Coach DeBoer went to the national championship 2 years ago,” Ingram said.”If they can find leaders within this program to right the ship and get this thing turned around, play with some swagger, play with some toughness, play with some effort, play with some discipline. This is an overreaction. Roll damn Tide.”
