Josh Allen’s breakout season has positioned him for a solid NFL future.
Kentucky’s senior linebacker looks like a sure first-round draft pick, and his coach vouched for his pro potential during Wednesday’s SEC Coaches Teleconference. When asked about Allen, Wildcats coach Mark Stoops gushed about the linebacker’s consistency and desire.
Stoops was asked about a few other subjects, like the importance of No. 15 Kentucky (8-3) starting fast in its road game against rival Louisville (2-9) at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday. Below are Stoops’ responses from the teleconference.
On the development of his team:
- We’ve been more consistent, not perfect. One in two games, we felt like we left on the table. Just been a more consistent team, and that comes from maturity and a great senior class.
How important will be getting a fast start against Louisville?
- Yeah, that helped us last week. Got some turnovers; it will be important again this week.
On Josh Allen and his pro potential:
- There is no doubt he will be a very successful pro player due to his approach. The way he plans, the way he eats, he is very consistent. He wants to be great. He’ll continue to develop and be a fantastic pro.
