The Kentucky Wildcats just capped off another losing season under Mark Stoops with a 41-0 drubbing at the hands of their hated in-state rivals, the Louisville Cardinals, and fans in Lexington are not very pleased.

This marks the second-straight losing campaign for the Wildcats, a stretch that followed up 2 straight years where the Cats finished barely above .500.

The pressure appears to be rising for Stoop due to these recent shortcomings, but the head ball coach shot down any suggestion that he may step down from his current post following the loss to Louisville.

“You think I’m going to walk away. You kidding me?,” Stoops said at his postgame press conference. “Zero percent chance I walk away. I’m gonna be here as far as I’m concerned… Zero means zero. Zero percent chance I walk.”

Stoops and Kentucky entered the 2025 season hoping to bounce back from an abysmal 2024, but things never got going for them as they only managed to pick up a pair of SEC wins.

Calls for Stoops’ job grew louder as the season rolled along, prompting the longtime AD at Kentucky, Mitch Barnhart, to come out and publicly reiterate his support for Stoops on multiple occasions.

Stoops may not have any interest in stepping down at this juncture, but whether he stays or goes may not be in his hands anymore following the awful ending to what’s been a dreadful 2025.
