LSU’s new offensive coordinator, Matt Canada, has worked with ex-SEC quarterbacks before and had plenty of success.

Former Florida QB Jacoby Brissett played for Canada at N.C. State and become a third-round pick. One-time Tennessee signal caller Nathan Peterman suited up for Canada at Pittsburgh and led the ACC in passer efficiency rating.

Now Canada comes to the Tigers, who have struggled at the game’s most important position since Zach Mettenberger put up big numbers in 2013. The depth chart in Baton Rouge needs to be beefed up, but there’s reason to believe Canada’s presence alone — based on his recent track record — could be a shot in the arm for Danny Etling.

Be sure to watch the video above for some quick commentary on Canada going to the Bayou Bengals after Lane Kiffin said no.
