As of Saturday morning, Manny Diaz is still Miami’s head football coach.
But reports continue to surface that the Hurricanes would like to go in another direction if they can get the right guy.
Who’s the right guy?
Oregon coach Mario Cristobal appears to be the answer.
On Saturday morning, Miami Herald reporter Barry Jackson tweeted that the Hurricanes have made Cristobal an offer that would make him the highest-paid coach ever at Miami.

The 51-year-old Cristobal is a Miami native and Hurricanes alumnus. He was also an assistant coach at his alma mater from 2004-06.
Cristobal has a 35-13 record in 4 season with the Ducks, who were blown out in the Pac-12 Championship game by Utah on Friday night, 38-10.
Diaz, meanwhile, has come under fire during his 3 seasons as Miami’s head coach. He has posted a 21-15 record at the school since taking over for Mark Richt.
