Mike Gundy recreates famous ‘I’m a man! I’m 40!’ rant for new commercial

Eighteen years later, Mike Gundy is still cashing checks on his famous rant. The Oklahoma State head coach recreated his “I’m a man! I’m 40!” tirade in a hilarious commercial for Consumer Cellular.
In the ad, Gundy rips the mobile competition with the same intensity as he did that poor reporter back in 2007.
“Big wireless wants to come after me? I’m a man, I’m not 40. I’m 58,” Gundy said. “Why would I over pay? … Big wireless makes me want to puke!”
Although he’s best known for that viral moment, the Oklahoma native has established himself as a 1 of the top coaches in the sport since taking the reins in Stillwater in 2005.
Gundy won the Bear Bryant Award in 2011 after winning the conference championship, as well as being a 3-time recipient of the Big 12 Coach of the Year award. Gundy, who was inducted into the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame in 2021, also played quarterback for the Cowboys during his college career. Gundy has a 170-88 overall record and is 12-6 in bowl games.
Oklahoma State kicked off the season with a 27-7 victory vs. visiting UT Martin. Gundy and his Cowboys will get a tough challenge this Saturday when they travel to take on No. 6 Oregon (3:30 p.m. ET/CBS, Paramount+).
