Mississippi State (3-3, 1-2 SEC) will look to bounce back from last week’s 49-9 blowout loss to Alabama with a road game at Vanderbilt on Saturday.

The Commodores are widely regarded as the weakest team in the SEC, but Bulldogs coach Mike Leach has been impressed with what he’s seen from Clark Lea’s team, especially on defense.

“They play hard,” said Leach on Wednesday during the SEC coaches teleconference of the Vanderbilt defense. “They’re really aggressive.”

Leach also said he’s been impressed with the Vandy offense and that the experience the Commodores have on that side of the ball will pose challenges for MSU’s younger defense.

“They play hard. They’re an older group too,” Leach aid when asked about the Vanderbilt offense. “We’re a pretty young team, probably the youngest in the conference. They’ve probably got some experience on us.”

Mississippi State’s game with the Commodores (2-5, 0-3 SEC) will be televised by the SEC Network at 4 p.m. EST.
