Mike McDaniel has defended Tua Tagovailoa since taking over as the Miami Dolphins’ head coach and he’s definitely not backing down now.

As the Dolphins (5-1) prepare for a Sunday Night Football showdown and potential Super Bowl preview at the Philadelphia Eagles (5-1), they boast the NFL’s No. 1 offense with the former Alabama quarterback at the helm. Tagovailoa leads the league in passing yards (1,876) and QB rating (114.1), while also being tied for first in touchdown passes.

However, flanked with electrifying playmakers such as Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Raheem Mostert, many are theorizing that any competent quarterback could succeed in this situation.

Yet, when a reporter floated that notion, McDaniel quickly brushed it off.

“I’m about to push this podium over. My answer to that would be who the F cares? It is a team. We’re working together,” McDaniel said. “I know 1 thing. I’ve coached a long time and I haven’t seen people do what our guys do…To their credit, to their ability and their commitment to their craft.”

McDaniel reiterated that the Dolphins’ dynamic offense is a collective effort from a group of outstanding players. Under the innovative leadership of McDaniel, the proud franchise is striving for the franchise’s first Super Bowl title in 5 decades.

“We’re all tied together,” McDaniel said. “It’s a journey that we’re experiencing together.”
