Mike the Tiger is a Bengal–Siberian mix and the 7th live tiger in LSU’s history. Mike VII, previously named Harvey, was donated by an Okeechobee, Florida sanctuary.
LSU enters the contest with a 9-3 mark after being upset on the road by Texas A&M in the regular season finale. The loss snapped a 5-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, defending national champion Georgia capped off the regular season with a perfect 12-0 mark in large part because of its dominant defense. Georgia held opponents to 20 points or fewer on 10 occasions this season.
Georgia is virtually bound for the College Football Playoff no matter the outcome, but perhaps a loss could alter its seeding.
LSU leads the all-time series 18-13-1 against Georgia, with wins in the last 2 meetings. In the last matchup, LSU handled Georgia 37-10 in the 2019 SEC title game.
The SEC Championship Game will kickoff at 4 p.m. ET and will be televised on CBS.
