Mississippi State has stellar special teams play, and the Bulldogs turned them on again late in the first half against Georgia.

Zavion Thomas scooped up a punt on a bounce and took it the distance for a 63-yard score. Thomas got a missed tackle early in the play, and that was all he needed. Once he scored, there were 3 seconds remaining on the clock in the first half.

It was the second straight game that State scored on special teams after a kickoff return last week against Auburn.

The score pulled State to within 17-12 at halftime, as the home team struggled to find much offense with just 7 first downs. The home Bulldogs had 139 total yards, as they mustered 112 passing yards and 27 rushing yards. State was just 1-for-7 on third down conversions.
