All the flux at the top of the College Football Playoff rankings hasn’t affected Mississippi State all that much.

Dak Prescott continues to sit outside the main Heisman Trophy watch narratives and Mississippi State is getting little to no national attention.

There’s always a big way to change that in the SEC West. Just ask Ole Miss. Beat Alabama on Saturday and Mississippi State, even with two losses, may be threatening the top 10 of all the major polls. Prescott, too, would be getting more Heisman Trophy talk.

Coach Dan Mullen’s team remains the fourth-ranked SEC team in the College Football Playoff poll behind Alabama (No. 2), LSU (No. 9) and Florida (No. 11).
