Mississippi State has hired a new director of player personnel.

A report from 247Sports said that Madison Central High School coach Brad Peterson had accepted a position with the school, and it was later learned that he’d be assuming the role of director of player personnel that was previously held by Rockey Felker, who simultaneously directed high school relations.

According to The Clarion-Ledger, Felker will stay on with the program in some way.

The Louisville, Miss., native had made a footprint as a high school coach in the state over the last several years. He led his alma mater of Louisville High School to back-to-back state championships in 2007 and 2008. He later took Brandon High School to a Class 6A State Championship appearance in 2012.

Last season at Madison Central, he took the team to the Class 6A semifinals, where they fell to Starkville High School.
