The Missouri Tigers on Tuesday announced who their permanent team captains would be as they prepare for the 2022 season, Eli Drinkwitz’s 3rd year in charge in Columbia.
Four offensive players are on the list: quarterback Brady Cook, offensive lineman Javon Foster (an All-SEC preseason 3rd-team selection by the media and 2nd-team preseason pick by the league’s coaches), and wide receivers Barrett Bannister and Tauskie Dove. Defensive back Martez Manuel, linebacker Chad Bailey, and defensive lineman Isaiah McGuire are the representatives on defense.
The Tigers were picked to finish 6th in the SEC East in 2022 after coming in 4th in the division a season ago. They went 6-7 overall (3-5 SEC) and qualified for the Armed Forces Bowl, where they lost to Army.
Mizzou opens its 2022 campaign on Thursday, Sept. 1 against Louisiana Tech at Faurot Field. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET and will be televised on ESPNU.
