Missouri is losing one of its veteran cornerbacks to the transfer portal, just weeks after end of the Tigers’ spring football practices for 2025.
Ja’Marion Wayne, a member of the Tigers program for 3 seasons, will enter the portal, according to a report that cites a conversation with his agency Power Up Sports. Wayne will have 2 years of eligibility remaining.
Wayne, from the St. Louis area, signed with the Tigers out of the class of 2022, where he was considered a 4-star recruit and the No. 41 wide receiver in the country.

He made the switch to safety in his first season and played in 4 regular-season games, plus the Gasparilla Bowl against Wake Forest, ultimately donning a redshirt. In 2023, he saw action in every game, mostly on special teams. Eventually, he moved from safety to cornerback, and in 2024, he played in 10 games, registering 5 tackles.
Now, after going through spring practice with the Tigers, Wayne looks to be in search of a new home, making his intentions known before the spring transfer portal period opens on Wednesday.
Mizzou is coming off a 10-3 record, including a win in the Music City Bowl. The Tigers have enjoyed a strong last couple of seasons, going 21-5 combined.
