Mizzou coach Barry Odom updates Tigers’ quarterback situation

The Mizzou offense struggled against Florida on Saturday afternoon, to put it lightly.
In the 40-14 loss at the hands of the Gators, the Tigers amassed only 98 passing yards — 39 from starter Drew Lock and 59 from backup Marvin Zanders.
Lock was especially bad, completing only four of his 18 pass attempts. Zanders completed three of his four passes, but was playing against Florida’s second-team defense.
Moving forward, first-year head coach Barry Odom would like to see both quarterbacks get playing time, but not in their traditional roles.
He said on Monday that he wants Zanders to be a better passer and Lock to be a better runner:

The Tigers will have a chance to tweak some things offensively as they prepare to host Middle Tennessee on Saturday afternoon.
Though Middle Tennessee has a powerful offense of its own, Mizzou’s quarterbacks should be able to find room to throw the ball and make plays with their feet.
Lock got off to a hot start this year, dominating in the Tigers’ four September games. However, if Zanders significantly outperforms Lock this weekend, Mizzou could have a new quarterback moving forward.
