Mizzou is one of the biggest programs in the country who has yet to name a starting quarterback for Week 1, and that reportedly won’t change this week.
With a little more than a week to go before the Tigers open the 2025 season against Central Arkansas, coach Eli Drinkwitz told his team Wednesday that Mizzou will continue to evaluate both Beau Pribula and Sam Horn during that Week 1 contest.
That’s according to a report from ESPN’s Chris Low:
Pribula transferred to Mizzou from Penn State this offseason and was the favorite to win the starting job after spending the last couple of years behind Drew Allar. Pribula proved to be an excellent runner during his time with the Nittany Lions, but remains largely untested as a passer.
Horn is a former blue-chip prospect whose future may be in another sport. He was drafted by and signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers this summer, but is putting his baseball career on hold while he competes for the starting QB job.

Horn has thrown just 8 college passes so far as he enters his fourth season with the program.
Mizzou vs. Central Arkansas is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, Aug. 28. The following week, Mizzou will host Kansas in a rivalry matchup.
