The NFL has strict guidelines on the contracts that drafted rookies receive upon entering the league. The salary cap and the rookie compensation pool both dictate the contract amounts for rookies in the league.

Signed rookies that are drafted receive four-year contracts. Teams also get a fifth year option to hold on to the rights of a player if that player was taken in the first round of the draft.

Let’s take a look at the projected salaries of the top drafted prospects and other notable SEC players from last night’s first round of the NFL Draft:

# Player Total Contract
1 Jameis Winston $22,395,498
2 Marcus Mariota $21,366,598
3 Dante Fowler, Jr. $20,737,302
4 Amari Cooper $20,018,104
5 Brandon Scherff $18,759,502
10 Todd Gurley $12,331,652
21 Cedric Ogbuehi $8,421,200
