Nae’Qwan Tomlin, Kansas State forward, gives Kentucky bulletin-board material

Nae’Qwan Tomlin and Kansas State evidently aren’t concerned about Kentucky’s physical style ahead of their 2nd round matchup on Sunday.
On Saturday, Tomlin and teammate Keyontae Johnson were asked about the clashes in style between K-State and Kentucky. Kansas State has more “position-less” players and operates at a fast-pace while UK prefers a slower tempo while featuring a traditional center in Oscar Tshiebwe.
“I mean, I feel like if we just focus on ourselves, we’ll be fine. I mean, we are still watching film, still learning them, but I feel like we have — like he said, we’re in the toughest conference, so we faced different styles of play and how different teams play,” Johnson said. “We played an SEC team before, so, I mean, I don’t think it will be anything hard that we can’t contain really.”
Following Johnson’s answer, Tomlin took it a step further.
“Yeah, like what Keyontae said, I don’t think it will be something that will be much of a challenge besides Oscar, but, you know…,” he said.

Kansas State is looking to reach the Sweet 16 for the 1st time since 2018. Kentucky hasn’t reached the 2nd weekend of the NCAA Tournament since 2019.
Kentucky and Kansas State will tipoff at 2:40 p.m. ET on Sunday.
