Alabama RB Najee Harris had a breakout game in a loss to LSU on Saturday, running 19 times for 146 yards and 1 touchdown. That’s an average of 7.7 yards per carry. He also had 3 catches for 44 yards and a score.

Yes, the Tide still lost 46-41, but this is some great momentum for Harris to carry forward through the rest of his junior season.

On Monday, he was asked about getting stronger as the year goes on, and here’s what he had to say (via a video posted to YouTube by AL.com):

“I am getting stronger because I’m getting more experience,” he said. “The past three years here, I hadn’t really ever played a whole game. This is the one year that I have played more, so I am learning more — more about the game, more about certain fronts.”

“How far do you think you’ve come?” the reporter interjects.

“I’m not there yet, but I’m farther than where I started at,” Harris responds. “All that matters is I’m improving more. I learning more. … Stuff is slowing down for me each game.”

How will Harris fare moving forward? As QB Tua Tagovailoa continues to recover from an ankle injury, Harris will be even more important to the Alabama offense.
