Mississippi State held its Pro Day on Thursday, and 13 former members of the football team participated in workouts.

Defensive end Ryan Brown, cornerback Will Redmond and receiver Joe Morrow were not expected to take part in the event due to injury.

Quarterback Dak Prescott, holder of 38 MSU school records, elected to only throw and do individual drills as his NFL Combine numbers were impressive enough.

The story of the day was the disappointing showing from receiver De’Runnya Wilson, who failed to improve on his poor performance in Indianapolis.

If anyone needed a good showing in the 40-yard dash, it was Wilson, whose 4.85 at the combine was the worst among all 37 receivers at the combine. He only improved slightly in the Pro Day with an unofficial time of 4.81, which still would’ve been the worst at the combine by a good margin.

Wilson, whose 28-inch vertical leap was also the worst among the 41 receivers to partake in the event at the combine, only managed a 28.5-inch leap at the Pro Day.

As for the broad jump, Wilson underwhelmed by finishing with the third-worst jump at 9’5”. He did slightly worse on Thursday with a 9’4” effort.

Cornerback Taveze Calhoun had a good day, improving on his showing at the combine. Calhoun posted a 35.6-inch vertical leap, some reported 35.5 (either way up from his 33.5 at the combine) and recorded a 9’8” broad jump (didn’t do event at the combine).

Also participating was track athlete TK Kieras, who started getting some buzz at the event. Identical to Calhoun, the 6-foot-3, 271-pounder posted a 35.5-inch vertical and 9’8” in the broad jump. He also ran 4.75 in the 40.

Linebacker Beniquez Brown reportedly ran a 4.65 in the 40, a significant improvement from his 4.77 in the combine.

In all, 30 of the 32 NFL teams were present with the only two exceptions being the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks.
