Tough news to share on Quinnen Williams as the New York Jets lineman has reportedly suffered an injury that will sideline him for a few months.

In his second NFL season, Williams started to shine for the Jets after being selected with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Last fall, Williams set career highs with 55 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 14 quarterback hits, seven sacks, two forced fumbles and three passes defended for the Jets.

Now heading into his third season in the NFL, Williams is dealing with a broken bone in his foot according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero.

“Jets DL Quinnen Williams broke a small bone in his foot and likely will have surgery that’ll sideline him 8-10 weeks, sources tell me and Mike Garafolo. That means no OTAs or minicamp for Williams, but he should be healthy in time for training camp,” Pelissero reported.

At least Williams projects to be back in the lineup for his first training camp under new head coach, Robert Saleh. The architect of San Francisco’s defense in recent seasons, Saleh is likely to scheme up several ways to get the most out of Williams in the upcoming NFL season.
