Should the Southeastern Conference allow intraconference transfers?

Considering Alabama added linebacker Henry To’oto’o from Tennessee this offseason, it’s safe to assume Nick Saban thinks so.

While he didn’t outright make that statement on Thursday, the Alabama coach was recently asked about the changes coming to college football with Name, Image and Likeness along with the NCAA’s decision to allow one-time transfers and the SEC holding a vote on intraconference transfers on Thursday.

“It is what it is, you just have to adapt to whatever it is. I don’t know what will happen today when they vote on (intraconference transfers). I know that all the other conferences you can intraconference transfer,” Saban said on Thursday at his charity golf tournament. “But I have no idea what the outcome of that would be. So, we’ll just have to wait and see.”

While we may be in the middle of the college football offseason, recruiting never stops and that certainly is the case in Tuscaloosa under Saban.

Things on the recruiting trail are heating across the country, not just at Alabama after the NCAA opened recruiting after over 400 days of being shut down and Saban is thankful to finally be able to host prospects and their families on campus.

“Well, I think it’s so much better. Zooming, technology allows us to do that, which is certainly better than talking to somebody on the phone,” Saban added. “But the face-to-face contact, getting to meet people and sit there and look at them in the eye with their parents, as well as the prospects.

“Is something I’ve always really enjoyed. Developing relationships with all the people in the organization who are going to impact a guy’s future. Whether it’s people in academics, strength and conditioning, medical staff, nutritionists. Developing relationships with all those people is something that I think is very important.”
