At 7-0 and sitting in the No. 1 spot in the AP Poll, the Alabama Crimson Tide are rolling so far this season.
However, no team is perfect, and the Crimson Tide certainly have some areas they could improve upon.
On Saturday morning’s SEC Nation, coach Nick Saban discussed what he thinks is his team’s biggest weakness. He said he thinks it’s a similar problem that all teams face, which is getting the most out of the players on the roster (via 247Sports):
“Look, everybody’s got their issues and problems, every team’s got some issue or problem,” he said. “There’s no perfect teams out there. What I really think is, what I talked about before, do you have the psychological disposition to be able to sustain a high standard and a high level of how you prepare for games, how you practice, how you get ready, how you respect your opponent, how you go out there every week and try to play. To me, that is the biggest challenge for any team. It’s not a personnel issue. It’s not ‘We don’t have a good enough right corner, we don’t have a good enough outside linebacker, we don’t have a good enough center.’ That’s not the issue. The issue is can you get them all to play the way they can play.”
If anyone can get the most out of his players, it’s Saban. He’s one of the best motivators in the sport and will stop at nothing to get his guys to play up to their potential.
Following a national championship loss last year, Saban and the Crimson Tide will be even more motivated to go undefeated this time around.
