Nick Saban and company escaped with the win. It wasn’t pretty, but a W is still a W at the end of the day.
The Tide turned the ball over 4 times, were without one of the best quarterbacks in the nation, missed 2 field goals and had its opponent ready to deliver the killshot on the 2-yard line.
Good teams just find a way. Saban met with the media following Alabama’s 24-20 win over the Aggies. His first statement is around what you would expect.
Saban: “That was not our best football out there tonight.”

Saban was critical of the receivers not getting enough separation to help Jalen Milroe in Bryce Young’s absence. He admitted there were little chacnes for receivers to prove they could seperate on man to man coverage.
Saban on Alabama WRs vs A&M: “We didn’t shake man to man very well, but I don’t think they had a lot of opportunities either.”

It wasn’t all negative though. Saban was impressed by the defensive line and its ability to pressure the quarterback all night. He called out Will Anderson as being someone the Aggies had a tough time blocking.
Saban: Will Anderson did a really good job. We lined up somebody next to him so they couldn’t chip him. They had a tough time single blocking him.

Saban: “I think the pass rush was really good tonight. … I think the pressure on the quarterback was the big thing.”

Saban said Jaylen Moody had “a bruised kidney” that caused him to miss tonight’s game. He hasn’t been cleared yet but hopeful he will be back.
