Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide struggled at times in the first half against Tennessee Saturday. The Third Saturday in October looked like it was turning out to be a masterpiece by the Vols. However, Alabama settled down and went on a 10-point swing before halftime.
Tennessee leads Alabama 28-20 at halftime.
The Vols offense, led by quarterback Hendon Hooker, racked up 226 yards and scored 28 points. Hooker completed 10-of-14 for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also added 32 rushing yards. Jabari Small also rushed for a touchdown, as did Princeton Fant.
Below is what Saban said at halftime of Saturday’s SEC showdown.
“Well, we played about as bad as we could play in the first half, especially on defense,” Saban told CBS Sports. “There were a lot of penalties and bad errors on special teams to basically give them a score. So, we’re still in the game, so we got to come out and play better on both sides of the ball. We’ve got to eliminate the penalties and get some turnovers. We just have to play our game.”
