Nick Saban wasn’t completely negative and critical of Alabama’s efforts in last Saturday’s 20-19 win over Texas. The Crimson Tide coach said on his radio show Thursday that although he wasn’t pleased with the game, he believes his team showed great mental toughness.
Saban: “One thing that I think you have to say about our team last week, regardless of what people put on the internet, is they showed tremendous resiliency in being able to overcome adversity. And that starts with the mental toughness they had.”

As it has been said before, Alabama is often a victim of its success and the dominating fashion in which the Crimson Tide have accomplished it. Winning is hard. Winning championships is hard. Even when it looks easy, there was a lot of hard work that we don’t often see.
Texas deserves credit for bringing the game to Alabama and the Crimson Tide deserve credit for taking a few punches in the face, shaking them off and figuring out how to win in a tough road environment. The experience serve Alabama well in future close games this season.
