No. 8 Alabama will take a break from SEC play when they host Austin Peay on Saturday (12 p.m. ET). Alabama head coach Nick Saban recently updated the status of 2 Alabama starters.
Saban said that both junior running back Jahmyr Gibbs (ankle) and junior defensive back Eli Ricks (head) are currently day-to-day.
Saban on Jahmyr Gibbs, Eli Ricks statuses: "We'll see. They're kind of day-to-day in terms of what they're doing, how they're doing."

Gibbs and Ricks both exited during Alabama’s 30-24 victory at Ole Miss last Saturday. With an FCS team on the docket, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Saban sit both to get some extra rest and recuperation.
Gibbs has rushed for 774 yards and 6 touchdowns with an average of 6.5 yards per carry this season. Gibbs’ best game this season was when he rushed for 206 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 49-26 victory at Arkansas on Oct. 1.
Ricks has amassed 4 solo tackles and 4 pass deflections this season. Jase McClellan replaced Gibbs and Terrion Arnold took Ricks’ place against Ole Miss.
After Austin Peay, Alabama will conclude the regular season by hosting the Iron Bowl vs. Auburn on Nov. 26.
