No. 5 Georgia is in a dogfight with Florida but 1 of its senior wide receivers reached the end zone for the first time with the program.
Georgia quarterback Gunnar Stockton connected with Texas A&M transfer Noah Thomas for a 22-yard score in the third quarter to give the Bulldogs the lead.
The 6-foot-5 Texas native entered the rivalry contest with just 4 receptions for 54 yards. This was Thomas’ first catch since a 30-yard reception in the 20-10 road win at Auburn on Oct. 11.
Thomas was the No. 8 wide receiver and 31st-best overall player in the transfer portal according to 247Sports. The 21-year-old Thomas played at Texas A&M from 2022-2024. In his 3 seasons with the Aggies, Thomas tallied 73 receptions for 984 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Coming out of high school, Thomas was regarded as a 4-star prospect and also held offers from programs such as Notre Dame, Arkansas, Baylor, and Arizona State. Thomas was the No. 37 prospect from Texas and the No. 40 wide receiver nationally in his class.
Georgia is looking for its fifth straight win over Florida on Saturday.
