Oklahoma softball rallies to knock off Clemson, punch ticket to Women’s College World Series

Oklahoma is going back to the Women’s College World Series. The Sooners were down to their last strike trailing by 3 runs, but they managed to pull off the spectacular comeback and set an NCAA record in the process.
Oklahoma trailed 7-4 in the top of the 7th inning. With 2 outs and 2 on, Kinzie Hansen was at the plate. On an 0-2 count, she launched one to the seats to extend the game.

Clemson did not score in the bottom of the 7th inning, so the game went to extra innings. The game remained 7-7 through the 8th inning.
In the top of the 9th inning, Tiare Jennings came through with her second home run of the day. The solo shot put Oklahoma up 8-7.

Jordy Bahl tossed the final 3 innings for the Sooners, including a 1-hit bottom of the 9th inning to get the win. Saturday’s victory marks 48 straight for Oklahoma, an NCAA record.

Oklahoma Softball won their 48th consecutive game today against Clemson.
That is the longest winning streak in NCAA D-I Softball History.
