How would the old BCS computers rank the top 25? Alabama is ranked No. 3

It’s not easy to find a poll or ratings metric where Alabama isn’t No. 1.
The Crimson Tide is No. 1 in the latest AP, coaches and FWAA polls — and it received all the No. 1 votes, as pointed out in an article from AL.com.
Alabama, which is now 8-0, defeated Tennessee 45-7 on Saturday.
However, the Dr. Peter Wolfe ratings have Alabama at No. 3 behind not only Georgia, which is No. 1, but also — get ready for it — Central Florida.
Wolfe’s ratings were part of the formula for the computer rankings that factored into the BCS ratings, which, of course, determined the top two teams in the country that played for the national championship every year.
Luckily, we now have the College Football Playoff.
As the AL.com article points out, each formula from that era measured success with different factors. The other formulas that updated on Sunday to reflect Saturday’s games have the Crimson Tide as the nation’s No. 1 team.
