Ole Miss has a new commitment for the 2026 recruiting class, landing a key defensive recruit out of Georgia.
The player is Nassir ‘Nascar’ McCoy, a 3-star safety out of powerhouse program Buford High School. McCoy eventually committed to Lane Kiffin and the Rebels from a final group that consisted of Georgia and Michigan. Prior to cutting down his final group, McCoy had generated over 2 dozen offers, including from most of the heavy hitters in the SEC.
Now, he heads to Ole Miss as a key pickup for Kiffin and his staff:
McCoy is listed at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, and the 247 Sports Composite gives McCoy a 3-star rating for the cycle. He’s also rated the 39th overall safety prospect in the country.
Here’s a look at what he brings to the table via his Hudl highlights:
The addition of McCoy brings Ole Miss up to 15 hard commitments for the 2026 recruiting class, a group that ranks 30th nationally per the team composite rankings. Ole Miss has just 6 commitments from top-300 prospects, but there is plenty of time for things to improve across the summer and fall.
Last year, the Rebels produced the 16th overall recruiting class in the country. Along with the elite work in the transfer portal, it has worked out quite well for Kiffin’s program thus far.
