Ole Miss’ midweek game against Southern Miss was called a no-contest in the 4th inning after it was determined that the playing conditions were too poor to continue. The sod on the field was not allowing baseballs to roll as they should, as demonstrated by the video below.
This is the 2nd time this season that Ole Miss has escaped a midweek game due to a called game; they benefitted from an inclement weather cancellation in March than gave the Rebels a win despite the fact that Louisiana Tech had more runs on the board when the game was called.
That’s baseball for ya, but some online are pointing towards the ironic nature of not one but 2 called midweek games in the same season favoring the Rebels.
This is a new one. Ole Miss and Southern Miss game called a no-contest due to poor field conditions after this play.
