ESPN pundit Paul Finebaum appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter on Sunday morning as “Professor Finebaum”, doling out midseason grades for various SEC teams – including his mark for the Georgia Bulldogs.

“The grade for the Dawgs is close to an A, but I am going to give them a B,” Finebaum said. “Remember, they lost to Alabama at home and have come close to losing a couple of times. So I can’t give them a perfect grade.”

Finebaum referenced Georgia’s 24-21 loss to then-No. 17 Alabama on Sept. 27, as well as close calls against then-No. 15 Tennessee (a 44-41 overtime victory by Georgia) and last weekend’s 43-35 comeback win against then-No. 5 Ole Miss.

The Bulldogs needed every one of their 17 4th-quarter points against the previously-unbeaten Rebels, as well as a key defensive stop late in the game. Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton threw for 289 yards and 4 touchdowns in the victory, which dealt Ole Miss its first loss.

Georgia is off this week and plays rival Florida in the game formerly known as the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party in Jacksonville on Nov. 1.
