When football season is here, love — of both your favorite team and your significant other — is in the air.
A rabid Auburn fan appeared Thursday on Gus Malzahn’s weekly radio show. Taking the opportunity, he asked Malzahn a football question — before quickly pivoting into asking his girlfriend for her hand in marriage.

As Malzahn told Auburn Undercover, he was surprised at the turn of events.
“That’s a pretty big deal. That’s a pretty big deal right there. That’s real life. I was impressed he was able to ask a question before that — a football question. And then flip the page. That’s impressive.”
Malzahn was also asked about how the marriages of his two daughters compared to the night before a big game:
“I tell you what, it’s real similar familiar: big game and right before your daughter gets married. There’s some similarities. You don’t get a lot of sleep either way. And I really like my son-in-laws, too, but I was still up a little bit, you know.”
There’s no word on whether Malzahn will indeed officiate the eventual wedding ceremony between the newly engaged pair.
